CAF CONFEDERATION CUP VICTORY OVER KOTOKO VOTED HEARTS’ GREATEST GAME

Accra Hearts of Oak fans have the 2004 CAF CONFEDERATION CUP victory over Asante Kotoko as the Greatest Game in the club’s 106-year history.

The most memorable games in the club’s history were whittled to four choices, namely: Hearts 3-0 Mufulira Wanderers (Miracle of El-Wak), Hearts 4-0 Kotoko, Hearts 3-1 Esperance (Champions League final), and Hearts’ CAF Confederation Cup victory over Kotoko, for fans to choose from on the social media pages of the club last Saturday.

Fans on Twitter voted overwhelming for the 2005 penalty-shootout win over Kotoko in the CAF Confederations Cup as the Greatest Game in the club’s history. The 2000 CAF Champions League success of the club ranked second whilst the 4-0 victory over Kotoko followed in third place with the Miracle of El-Wak match finishing fourth.

The 2-1 first leg win over Esperance in Tunis in the 2000 CAF Champions League finals also finished fifth as the club’s Greatest Game.
