Accra Hearts of Oak were made to pay for a slow start in the finals of the MTN FA CUP by arch-rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko who lifted the trophy after inflicting a 3-1 defeat on the Phobians at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Sunday.
A lethargic first half performance from Hearts was capitalized on by Kotoko striker Sadick Adams, who helped himself to three goals in 48 minutes to make the Phobians quest of winning an 11th FA Cup impossible.
Captain Thomas Abbey reduced the deficit with two minutes to the hour mark but it only proved a consolation as the Porcupines held onto their lead to win their 9th FA Cup trophy. More to follow………
