Despite Hearts losing out in the finals of the MTN FA CUP and finishing third in the league, Robert Sowah Addo insists the Phobians played the best football in the country.

According to the young defender, the near-miss of last season will spur the team to better success next season.

“We played some very good football last season and I will not be wrong to say ‘we were the best side in the country despite not winning the league or FA Cup’,” he told

“We were also involved in some high scoring games which proved that we had a very good attack. We beat Bechem 4-2, Bolga AllStars 4-0, Kotoku Royals 4-0; we played two 3-3 draws with Bolga and Aduana Stars and in those games you could see how good we were when things clicked for us.

“I know for sure that at the end of the day we did not win anything. But we finished as runners-up twice. First in the GHALCA SIX tournament despite having little time to prepare, losing on penalties to Aduana, and we lost again on penalties to Kotoko in the President’s Cup.

“I believe the way we ended the season made the fans sad but overall, I am sure most of them will agree with me that we took good steps forward as a unit.

“We can go one better next season and I know all the players would fight to use the disappointment of this season to give 100% next season.”
