11th September 2007 Our player Joseph Tagoe last week called at the Clubs Secretariat and signed for his passport to enable him access some remittance at the Western Union. Subsequently, we had information that this was decoy to enable him travel to Nigeria at the invitation of an unknown agent, ostensibly to join Sharks of Port Harcourt. Secondly the FORMER COACH, Mitko Dobrev, apart from making a ridiculous request for the services of some players including, Stanley Afedzie, Nana Kofi Egyir, Eric Gawu and Laud Quartey and is also alleged to be making unprofessional contacts with these players with the obvious intention of strengthening his new team in Nigeria. The Club takes a strong exception to this situation and have accordingly imposed an indefinite suspension on Joseph Tagoe with immediate effect in addition to freezing all entitlements due him. His conduct has also been officially reported to the GFA. Further, the Club is considering taking Mitko Dobrevs conduct to a higher level for talking to players under contract with another Club which is prohibited by FIFA. The Management wishes to state that the Club would not allow itself to be bullied or pushed into doing something that runs contrary to its interest. |
