Morose Hearts defender Richard Akrofi has rendered an unqualified apology to the Phobia family for his culpability in Sunday’s MTN FA CUP final collapse.
The hitherto faultless center back had a day to forget at the office as his two individual peccadilloes led to Kotoko taking a two-goal led.
Akrofi had been one of our top performers in the season having come in when coach Nuttall switched to a back-three but after not putting a foot wrong all season, he’s just not his assured self on Sunday.
“I am still down due to my performance in the finals,” he told accraheartsofoaksc
“‘I keep asking myself why me?’ If there’s a day to have a bad game, it should not have been in the finals.
“I am really sorry and I want to apologize to all Hearts fans across the world to forgive me for my performance on Sunday.
“I cannot get over this anytime soon but I need the help of Hearts fans to be able to get over this.”
