Striker Edward Affum has defended his decision to join Hearts of Oak, even though several of Glo Premier League clubs were interested in him.
Affum has indicated that he needs a new challenge and he sees Hearts of Oak as the perfect challenge to return to the top. The lad spent years at Tema Youth and Kumasi Asante before joining Hearts in a transfer that saw the Phobians beat the transfer deadline to register him for the second round of the competition. "They were fantastic years with Tema Youth and Asante Kotoko. After all these years, "I felt I needed a new challenge and going to play for Hearts is definitely a fascinating challenge and obviously something I want to do well", Affum said. "I am happy with the choice I made and we'll just have to see what happens on the pitch. That will tell us if it was the right choice for me to change team and if Kotoko did the right thing to let me go", he said. Affum also said he would love to score for Hearts against their rivals anytime the two clash. "Obviously it would be great to play and score against Kotoko or Tema Youth", he ended.
