Togbe Afede XIV the Agbogbomefia of the Ho Asogli State and majority shareholder at Hearts of Oak has been named the new board chairman of the club.
This therefore means the big royal will henceforth head the galaxy of established individuals in their own right, who form the new board as they continue to play the think-tank role for the club in decision-making. The newly constituted board has also formed three sub committee. They are the AUDIT AND FINANCE COMMITTEE which has Messrs. Apiigy Afenu General Manager of the Strategic African Securities (SAS), Alhassan Andani Managing Director of STANBIC BANK, Estate Developer Frank Nelson Nwokolo and SIDALCO COMPANY LIMITED boss, Hon. David Lamptey as members. The WELFARE AND REMUNERATION COMMITTEE is headed by Professor Kofi Kumado of the Law Faculty of the University of Ghana, Mr. Commodore-Mensah former chairman of the old board, the NCC chairman Alhaji Moro Braimah Akabi and the chief executive officer of the club Mr. Fred Crentsil as members. The third Committee, YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, RECRUITMENT AND TRANSFER COMMITTEE also comprise Togbe Afede XIV, with Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe a former CEO of the club, a patron and a medical practitioner, Justice Ivy Heward-Mills a Circuit Court judge and the chief executive officer of the club, Mr. Fred Crentsil as members. Additionally the various sub committees will appoint its own chairman at its first meeting. Additionally, ALLOH AND PARTNERS have been appointed as the Club ‘s Secretary and going by critical analysis, only the CEO Mr. Crentsil serves on two committees, namely the Welfare and Remuneration as well as the Youth Development, Recruitment and Transfer. As a reminder the new board of directors is made up of the chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, E. M. Commodore-Mensah, Messrs. Apiigy Afenu, Frank Nelson Nwokolo, Alhassan Andani, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamaklo, Professor Kofi Kumado, Hon. David Lamptey, Judge Ivy Heward-Mills, the only lady among the welter of men, NCC chairman Alhaji Moro Akabi and the chief executive officer of the club Mr. Fred Crentsil.
