There comes a time in the annals of a club when it has to dig deep into its reservoir of supply to flatten the opposition to nothingness, such as Hearts of Oak has to do in the case of Bechem United, whom they battled to a scoreless tie in the first leg away encounter.
On that occasion referee Reginald Larthbridge robbed Hearts of Oak of at least two clean penalties, in a match the pet fans treated the phobians as something the dog brought in. But Hearts of Oak's officials have said, they do not have the least motivation to pay Bechem back for all the wrongs they exhibited on the team on that fateful day.
Instead, the phobians have decided to visit the hell of punishment right on the field of play at the Accra Sports Stadium such that after 90 minutes of play, Bechem would confess they have indeed been in a match of their lives.
Hearts of Oak appear well-psyched for this particular match, knowing too well that any slip by any of the competing clubs with one eye on the title, will derail the carefully assembled plans of the phobians to annex the Premiership.
And with the field of phobians as determined as ever, Hearts of Oak owe it to the supporters to go all out to score goals just as the CEO Mr. Fred Crentsil has relayed to them sometime in the week, so that the goals tally which has been our bane can be increased.
Bechem spots a somehow solid defensive department revolving around Thomas Mensah formerly of Hearts of Oak as the kingpin, who, at Bechem, swept his lines so well that had it not been his exemplary play the phobians would have run away with a good win.
The visiting side also has another Hearts reject, Theophilus Appoh whose midfield play, once he is in his elements should confound all scouts on the prowl. Appoh's play may also be supported by the age-old Peter Ofoli-Quaye but that has to be all the Bechem lads have to have to offer.
Hearts should play the game as soldiers on the battle front for at Kpando they first whetted the appetite of the fans with that vintage display, before licking them fair and square. In the end even the beaten had pleasantly sporting words for the winners. It is that spirit of positive delivery that should inform the phobian game, and the entire supporters following are dead-expectant of what number of goals the lads will rain down on Bechem at Accra Stadium, as they cross their fingers to await the kill.
The supporters know in the fiber of their being to fill the stands first to root behind the team to enable it amass all the points on offer, and secondly, to put money into the club's kitty through multiplying the numbers at the Stadium to ensure increased gate proceeds.
And while the phobians are at it, it has been announced that there will be a side attraction of Chapters out-doing each other in the chanting game, for come what come may Bechem has to fall heavily to defeat.
