Mr. Fred Crentsil, CEO & Damba |
Chief Executive Officer of the Club has in an interview with Hearts News mentioned that looking at the caliber of players they have managed to rope in for the second round he believes that Hearts will be the team to beat when the second round kicks off on February 19.
The likes of Laryea Kingston, James Abban, Tetteh Nortey, Edward Affum and Haruna Ganiyu are but a few of the seasoned players that the Hearts playing body can boast off, thanks to the hard work of the Management led by Mr. Fred Crentsil and the Board who are stopping at nothing to ensure that, the Glo trophy returns to the trophy cabinet of the Phobians. According to him, when he takes all remaining 15 teams in the premiership, he feels that Hearts has the best of players locally and will surely wrestle the top spot from Kotoko, who are four points clear at the summit of the league table. “Winning the league is our top-most priority and that is what we are aiming for. And looking at the caliber of players we have, I feel that once the second round kick-starts we will reclaim our rightful position at the top of the league and stay there till it's all over, he said. The confident speaking CEO, who was personally at the team’s training grounds on Thursday to have first-hand information about its progress was of the view that though they needed more time to gel as a unit on the field of play, he still believes that there will be a lot of improvement in their style of play. “I believe that now we are going to give the supporters what they crave for in matches and that is goals, as well as excitement and we have the players to do so. The technical team has informed us of their decision to have some friendly matches on a regular basis from now till the resumption of the second round to know the proper placement of the players, he stated. In his estimation, the CEO expects stiff battle for places in the team and prayed that it will bring the desired benefits, which is to win matches”, he assured. He continued that, "the players now know that once the technical team loses faith in them, then the next option is to offload them to another team and I don't think they want to risk that. Any player found wanting will be given the boot", he concluded.
