Glorious Hearts of Oak yesterday played a friendly match with Nungua Danbort F/C at the ATTC Park. Hearts was using the friendly match to test their readiness towards their upcoming league match on Sunday against Ashanti gold at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The match which started at exactly 3:00pm was very competitive. Danbort F/C, a first division team was very aggressive, robust and playing like their whole life depended on the match, but they were unfortunate to stop the goals when it started coming in the middle stages of the game through inform Douglas Nkrumah who had a hat trick all through free kicks, ending the first half 3-0 in favour of the Mighty Oak Tree. When the second half started it was Accra Hearts who dominated play right from the blast of the center man whistle. Hearts did six substitutions to bring more pressure and fresh limps into the team. It came by no surprise when sensational player Mahatma Otoo added his name to the score sheet increasing Hearts tally to 4-0. Then in the 78th of the game, Wilson Andoh who came in for Douglas Nkrumah also scored to make it 5-0 for Hearts. Then getting to the embers of the game Sammy Adjei added the last goal to make it 6-0 by beautifully converting a spot kick after Joseph Tagoe has been whacked in the penalty box. Danbort F/C by their performance was not a bad side irrespective of the match score line. They play very well but then cannot stand the way of the Phobia Boys on the day. However, at approximately 5:46 the match came to an end at the ATTC Park. Hearts Line Up Sammy Adjei, Booby Ansah, Samuel Nzemaba, Phillip Boampong, Osei Bonsu, Moro Abubakar, Ernest Ackon/Uriah Asante/Joseph Tagoe, Isaac Ofori / Toufick Omar, Atakorah Gyimah, Richard/Mahatma Otoo, Doughlas Nkrumah/Wilson Andoh.
