Hearts Players jubilating |
Hearts of Oak will play their first international friendly this year when they welcome Ivorian giants Asec Mimosas to the Lizzyâs Sports Complex at 10am prompt.
This will be the very first time the playing body will be playing a competitive match since they resumed camping two weeks ago, and also will afford the technical team the opportunity to test the match readiness of all players, including the new ones who are yet to kick a ball for the club. This training match according to the CEO, has been made necessary due to the team's inability to play any competitive football during the weekend, due to the failure of Kintampo Sharp Arrows to show up for their FA Cup clash last Monday. All the registered players especially the new ones will be in action for the first time, and as the technical team has mentioned, they are going to use this game to gain first-hand information about the players' ability to gel in matches. “Since they arrived, we have not played any match and I believe that tomorrow's match will be a very good exercise for them, assistant coach Shaibu Tanko assured. The last time the Phobians played an international friendly, it ended in a defeat and that was the infamous 0-2 defeat to Enugu Rangers of Nigeria in the centenary celebration match.
