Laryea congratulates Ganiyu |
An expertly converted free kick from 25 yards from Laryea Kingston who is fast establishing himself as Hearts of Oakâs free kick expert proved enough to enable the phobians hold lower division side West Landers to a one-all scoring draw to bring the curtain down on its mid season friendlies.
Laryea's goal must have delighted Hearts fans who are hell-bent on seeing the club topple the opposition in Heart of Lions this weekend at Kpando. Indeed Lions would have a lot to do to stop the former Ghana international from converting such kicks on Sunday. Hearts, led in attack by Mahatma Otoo and Edward Affum gave a good account of themselves, and so did the midfield quartet pivoted around Laryea Kingston. In defence as usual, Osei Bonsu and Kofi Agyare cleared their lines to perfection stating a good case for themselves in the team's central defense. Ahmed Soulama on the left of defence and Bobbie Ansah on the right, all gave off a good account with Bobbie exhibiting good runs up front, as he consistently supported the team's attack. Hearts were resolute at the back and created enough chances to score but the West Landers goalkeeper proved near-perfect, as he pulled off brilliant saves to keep his side from falling heavily. In the second match Hearts beat the same side which paraded another set of squad just as Hearts also did. Douglas Nkrumah scored from a free kick to put Hearts ahead. 1st Team Philemon McCarthy, Bobbie Ansah, Ahmed Soulama, Kofi Agyare, Osei Bonsu, Moro Abubakar, Isaac Ofori, Laryea Kinston, Edward Affum, Mahatma Otoo, Iddrisu Moro. 2nd Team Laud Quartey, Faisal Yusif, Owusu Sefa, Saeed Mohammed, Tetteh Nortey, Samuel Nzemaba, James Abban, Uriah Asante, Sadat Karim, Douglas Nkrumah, Attakora Gyimah.
